Sorry for the incredibly late post today. i've been away from home all since yesterday and therefore away from my pc.

My gf's dad. One of the hardest workers I know.

I've decided to just keep it at one photo each day, unless the photos go together, like the car ones. Without writing about the day, the photos are hard to connect and don't really make sense so yeah.....I'd prefer this method. =)

A Second Introduction

So as I was editing pictures this morning, I was doing some thinking. And decided to change things up a bit. I felt like I needed to change the name of my blog from "Inside the Blah" because...Well.....that's not what it means to me. I don't really consider this a documentation of "blah". Or even a blogging of events that have taken place throughout the day. It's learning. It's experimentation. It's a display of photographs....not pictures. Photographs that mean something to me because of the memories that accompany them. Trying to summarize the events does them absolutely no justice and I'm no writer. So, why even bastardize them. One day, I hope I'll be able to see myself as a true photographic artist, and not simply a novice photographer. This is my wish...........this is my hope. So aside from the occasional ranting. There will be much less words, and more focus on the photographs. That's all.

Flowers and Family

A lot actually went on yesterday, but I didn't document a lot of it. Just too caught up unfortunately. But I managed to take a few snapshots from the day.

My big brother Jonathan. It's pretty bad ass that we're roommates and get to hang out each day. He's funny as hell too.

And has the most contagious laugh you'll ever hear haha.

Brothers, together from the beginning.

OH oh oh! I almost forgot. I got some snapshots of my roommate Donnie, which is RARE! He threatens to kick anyone who tries to take his picture and has no problems following through. So I had to snap these while he was playing xbox. The only time you can really......or when he's drunk =p

Only got off three shots before he put a stop to it haha.

I've been wanting to photograph these flowers outside our, since they bloomed but I just procrastinate too much, but yesterday was a great opportunity since I didn't have anything to do yet.

I never noticed this plant anywhere else besides here, but it's gorgeous I think.

Anyways, I headed over to this house later on in the night to watch movies. (Untraceable is garbage, don't see it) and ate, hung out with my lady, AND took some shots of this cute little kid.

He was so damn cute, and not shy at ALL! A lot of fun though.

But most of the details are left out just because. And tonight I'm going to see a local artist Sonny Bonoho at Hell's Kitchen so I should have some pics of that tomorrow. Take care! =)

The Boat Is Waiting at the Docks

People are for the most part the same, and I am really no different. It seems that everyone is waiting for something big to happen each day, whether it be "THE" big thing, or just the big thing for that day. Unfortunately, I too often forget that if you want something to happen, you've got to make it happen yourself. I was waiting around all day for that something yesterday, and it didn't come. So the photos today are a result of that. Still images of different things around my house, pretty much all for aesthetic value, so enjoy. (Or don't) =)

This is one of our friend's and old roommates' car. It broke down while he was living here and he hasn't come to get it since he moved out. I accidentally hit it with my car but whatever. It's my favorite car though, so it's fun to pretend that it's mine while it's here =p

This is one of those spinning cylinders that they use for bingo at the old folks homes. I found when we I was helping close down an old gym and throw old stuff out. I get hypnotized looking into this thing while it's spinning though so I had to keep it. That was a f*ckin pack rat move for sure.

This thing has ruled my life ever since I broke my ankle a few months ago and was out of work. The spell was recently broken though when my subscription expired and I was able to return to normal life and art =)

I miss this thing so much. It's the reason why I broke my damn ankle but the reason why I can't wait for it to get better as well. I had just bought the deck the same day too, and was trying it out for the first time when it happened. I was so stoked to be riding an 8.25 instead of the previous 7.75. HUGE difference, and I can't wait to get back on and really break this bitch in.

Anyways, that's it for yesterday. Maybe I'll figure out something more exciting for today so it'll be worth reading, HA! Lay-tray bay bay

Taxi Before the Graves

Yesterday started out here, in an empty parking lot. This is where my brother told me to wait for him while he walked over from the mechanic's shop that was working on his car. It's an old school Honda and he, and people our age in Tacoma love the older model (90's) Hondas, Acuras, Nissans, and all that. But not much the new ones. Anyways, being the little brother that I am, I felt it was necessary to stick a big camera in his face as soon as he got in my car during these early hours of the day =)

And this is the face I was hoping for hahaha.

Jonathan giving a trademark face. Crazy eyes!

So after I took him to school at the college, I went back home. Unfortunately though, I have to look at this heap each time I get home.

A pile of garbage outside of the house. The house inhabited by 4 young bachelors who forget to pay garbage bills and are too lazy to take it to the dump. I'm the clean one though, I promise!

And as usual, upon walking into the house, I found someone sleeping on the couch. I saw the person earlier in the morning, but wasn't sure who it was due to blankets masking their identity. But now saw that it was this month's crasher (we seem to have a lot) Lindsey..........SNAPSHOTS!!

heh heh, oh how I love the camera that they hate!

She didn't mind too much though because she offered to drive me somewhere to take pictures. I told her there were beaches nearby, and forests, graveyards. "GRAVEYARD!" She was all over that one for some reason. So, after a brushing of the fangs. We were off to visit dem bones. Lindsey is an interesting young lady. With an interesting interior to her car.

Pictures all over the ceiling. She has plans to cover the entire thing, but is only a little more than halfway there.

The graveyard I decided to take her too is my favorite in the area though, I really love graveyards for how peaceful they are. Never a lot of traffic, noise, distractions, or danger. Really, If you want to get away and clear your mind for the day. Go to a graveyard, not the beach. Much less people. Anyways...I say that alot..."Anyways" oh well....The graveyard is also a great place to take photographs. Especially this one, with all of it's statues, and tombs, and incredibly interesting gravestones. A lot of things you've never seen can be found in a graveyard.

A tall gravestone with an orb made out of marble on top. My favorite in the whole place.

This is one, made to look like a tree.

I wanted to take some photos of Lindsey in this environment just because. The creepy thing is, there were a bunch of beetles that crawled out of that first one, when she cleared some grass away from it. I guess you should expect bugs when there are dead bodies nearby though.

She wanted me to capture these two graves with the vase of dead flowers in between. It was knocked over, but she couldn't leave it like that.

I really love all of the different trees you'll find at this graveyard in particular. This is one of many pieces of beauty in this place.

An life-sized angel statue over a grave. Her wings are broken. I'm not sure why, but it saddens me a bit.

A small part of this expansive site. A lot of people.

However, the day was finished out with two steak dinners from two different houses, and drunken guitar hero fun. I'll get pics of those the next time ;-)

The Cute and the Boring

So yesterday was spent.....well spending time searching for new photos, artists, photographers, and photoblogs online because i was in that mode. Also some drumming thrown in. But when I decided to stop being so lazy, I went to Katie's place so I could go with her to some award ceremony that neither of us quite understood what it was about.....If that makes sense =) But I'm always awarded chances to shoot her pets which are an interesting bunch to be honest.

Maggie is my favorite out of all of the pets, and she'll walk up to anyone new and make her their favorite too!

Casey is AWESOME! She'll eat your food if you're not paying attention, eat the other cat's food, bite and scratch you for no reason, curl up on your lap, AND (my fav thing about her) she terrorizes the other two cats, Shadow and Camilla. Even though she's the youngest. YEAH!

Shadow is my second fav cat but it's still funny when she gets tackled from behind by Casey. I can never get a pic of Camilla because she hates me which gives me an unwavering spite towards her. Why can't she love me like the other animals!?!

Anyways, after messing around with the animals for a bit, it was time to head out. Now, I'll warn you that these pics are noisy (kind of fuzzy) because there was horrible light in this place and I had to use ISO 1600 so yeah. Plus this is my photoblog so you're not gonna get artsy photos EVERY time ;-)
But the event turned out to be handing out awards for students giving exceptional hours in community service and Katie was one of those students! So she got, like a "letterman" letter for it. Not sure why they chose that but the event was at Lincoln High School, which is pretty rad just because it looks like a castle.

I thought those clocks on the castle tower were pretty bad ass. But yeah, we got inside and immediately felt how boring this thang was going to be.

This was the view from our seats. Well, from standing up at my seat.

And this was the mood the whole time. Her face says it all and would mirror mine if I weren't looking for photos everywhere =)

But at least the table pieces were semi-interesting. SEE??

For some reason though, every single time that I go to any event nowadays. There is always someone there with a camera that I want with a yearning. Then I feel dwarfed when looking at my camera, and then knowing which camera they have. Especially when I feel like everyone else knows the difference, but then I realize that most people are not camera/photo enthusiasts and most think both are mucho nice. Also, there are others with regular p&s cameras so I'm probably not alone in that feeling. And who cares really, because my job is just to take my own photos with my camera, using my eye. Not worry about theirs. But I can still take a snapshot of others taking photos ;-)

The night did however afford me the opportunity to try some experimental shots. I figured with all the people that would be coming out of that place. Why not try to get them blurring in and out of the doors.

Not sure what to think about them but I guess that's part of experimenting =) All and all though, the night turned out to be quite fun having good company and of course snapping photos. Just a reminder, NEVER FORGET YOUR CAMERA.
